Eating Vegan in Minnesota Restaurants:

Of course you’ll probably still want to eat out too. Luckily, more and more restaurants are adding vegan options! However, you may be wondering where you can go to find ones that offer more choices.

In the Twin Cities, we are fortunate that there are so many vegan and veg-friendly restaurants! And our most recent issue of Minnesota Veg Living Magazine has some recommendations for you as well in the article by Kedar Deshpande entitled “Delicious Discoveries: Minnesota Plant-Based Adventures.”

Find tips for eating vegan at various chain restaurants and more vegan-friendly restaurants near you on HappyCow

Are you a student at the UMN Twin Cities or live near campus? Here’s a thorough list of how to eat vegan around campus.  Wherever you are, don’t forget to make use of internet searches!

Favorite Restaurants and Local Vegan Eats Suggested by Our Community:

  • Lulu’s EthioVegan Cuisine! I am a huge fan of Ethiopian food. They’re also so nice there!
  • Pizza Luce: they have a wide variety of sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, salad, and more!
  • French Meadow: I love their vegan brunch options! Tofu scramble and toast.
  • The Howe, The Block, J. Selby’s, Modern Times, Reverie, Francis Burger Joint
  • Crave, India Masala. Tasty, convenient, good variety
  • Reverie: nostalgia – first vegan restaurant I ever had when I first was vegan! I also love that they make their own burger patties, and their food is delicious! Korean Mock Duck tacos, breakfast burrito, and nachos are a standout to me. Pizza Luce: so fast and tasty and a great comfort meal when I don’t want to cook. My family is from outside of the Metro and vegan options are hard to find, so I appreciate Chipotle and the Burger King Impossible Whopper (no mayo!!) as a backup when there’s nothing else.
  • Reverie. Everything is delicious and they offer uniquely infused dishes…and there’s always a lovely variety of vegan desserts to choose from and the perfect steamer to go along with it.
  • Trio Plant-Based, Lulu EthioVegan Cuisine, J. Selby’s, Reverie, and Pizza Lucé all make amazing vegan comfort food.
  • I love Reverie cafe and Modern Times. Their food is just delicious and the people are kind.
  • Francis Burger, Reverie, Hard Times Cafe, J. Selby’s, Lulu’s Ethiovegan. They have delicious food and great service!
  • J. Selby and Reverie because I love going into a restaurant knowing I can eat anything on the menu without modifying and asking questions, and they both have amazing vegan food that has impressed my non-vegan friends and family too. Pizza Luce and French Meadow have lots of vegan options to choose from and often have fun seasonal specials that are vegan-friendly too.

Keep posted on our events page to see where we are doing our next dine-out. This is a great way to discover more options. We look forward to seeing you at one of them!
